Collins Memorial Library balances traditional library services and resources with new and ever-expanding digital collections and electronic databases. The Information Center is located on the main floor of the Wheelock Student Center, adjacent to Diversions Café. Students needing accommodations for summer classes should contact SAA as soon as possible after registering for classes. SAA supports faculty with their work with students and collaborates with them on the implementation of accommodations. We encourage you to get in touch with us in advance if you anticipate needing a reader for an essay during the summer term. However, we are able to offer writing appointments on request during much of the summer term. ![]() Our peer tutors do not work during the summer term, meaning our services and office hours are more limited. The Center is located in Howarth Hall, Room 105. Working on a one-to-one basis, students also receive help with organizing their ideas, writing a strong thesis statement, and reviewing their written work to make it clear, direct, and persuasive. With the assistance of CWLT faculty and staff, students learn how to overcome writer's block, approach an assignment, and assess the audience and purpose of a paper. The Center for Writing and Learning helps students from all academic disciplines develop their ability to use writing as a tool for thinking and learning. The Bookstore is closed for inventory on Thursday, June 29 and Friday, June 30. The University Bookstore, located in the lower level of the Wheelock Student Center, will be open 8:30 a.m. Students taking classes as visitors or non-degree candidates may discuss their plans with the office but are not required to do so. Students transferring to the university should contact the Academic Advising office at 25 to discuss appropriate courses. There is a general happenings board on the second floor across from WSC 209.Advisor approval is not required for continuing students to register for Summer Term courses. ![]() These boards are located near the Rotunda (Division of Student Affairs) entrance and downstairs by the Bookstore. However, some boards have been designated for services and general information. The Wheelock Student Center has bulletin boards on all three floors and most are designated to specific departments/groups/activities.
